sung to the tune of Smudge's
Funny You Should Mention That

Well she said she'd been at the Newcastle show about a week before
Not trying to be too forward, I suggested that we meet
Every time I go to Sydney I'm always by myself
But what do you do, when noone else will go
Well I just had to tell you that meeting you was such very good luck

I said it looks a lot like the Godstar wonky star
Not trying to be a pain, I didn't think it was that big of an ask
Any time you want something done you're always better off doing it yourself
But what do you do when she leaves in two weeks
Well I just had to tell you that the keyrings you bought me are wrong

She said she'd be at the pub by about nine o'clock
Not trying to drink too much because that's what i did last weekend
I gave you a present in stars and you gave me a better one right back
But what do you do when it's covered in orange juice
Well i just had to tell you that England's way too far away

Tried to make it there for 9, didn't want to keep them waiting
Not much I could do, 30 nails that needed painting
Brand new skirt, naked hair a handbag that really didn't match at all
But what do you do when you're about to leave for good
Well I just had to tell you that I still can't bring myself to say goodbye

Couple of hours, couple more beers lots of people we'd be missing
Not much we could do, had our time now it's time for splitting
Presents, photies, notes and hugs getting hectic try to keep it good
But what do you do when your star girl wants to leave
Well I just had to tell you that the first tears came right when you said goodbye

Far away, in the rain, new house, old friends, better beer
Not much I could do getting on without you here
Got your tapes and cards and photies lots of fun and stupid memories
But now it's all good cos you said you'll come see me
Well I just had to tell you that the day you told me that was just the best

No offence at all intended towards Jennifer (or Smudge for that matter), it was greatly appreciated.
